SCHO is a jewelry brand founded by Korean designer Sarah Cho, celebrated for her sculptural sensibility and poetic approach to materiality. She launched her debut collection in Paris in March 2012, earning immediate recognition from leading international retailers and fashion press.
Born in Incheon, South Korea, Sarah moved to the UK at the age of two. She spent a decade of her childhood in Windhoek, Namibia, before completing high school in Pennsylvania, USA, and eventually settling in Paris, France, where she laid the foundations of her creative journey. These early cross-continental moves shaped her deep appreciation for diverse cultures, textures, and environments—an influence that remains central to her work today.
Sarah is a graduate of the esteemed École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne (now part of IFM, Institut Français de la Mode), where she trained in the art of couture and design. Her professional experience includes work at Balenciaga, Manish Arora, and Lanvin, where she refined her technical skills and creative voice. In 2011, she was selected as a finalist at the International Talent Support (ITS) competition, where her collection caught the attention of Swarovski Elements. With their encouragement and sponsorship, Sarah launched SCHO the following year.
Her debut collection, presented in Paris, was immediately picked up by prestigious global retailers including LuisaViaRoma (Milan), Lane Crawford (Hong Kong), and Le Bon Marché (Paris), and received widespread acclaim from international press and media.
Sarah’s collections are deeply rooted in the nostalgia of her multicultural upbringing, often reflecting the emotions and memories tied to the landscapes of her childhood—especially the raw, untamed beauty of Namibia. These experiences surface throughout her work in both form and feeling. Her inspirations also draw heavily from materials themselves: sterling silver, pearls, and a range of natural semi-precious stones, often referencing the aesthetics of the Modernist era and the craftsmanship of Mexican silversmithing. As a result, her work is characterized by a fearless fusion of cultural elements and a uniquely intuitive approach to materiality, structure, and storytelling.
In 2017, SCHO opened its first flagship store in Hannam-dong, Seoul, which was featured in Vogue US. Since then, the brand has grown steadily, building a strong infrastructure and expanding actively into fashion-forward countries, especially in Japan. Today, SCHO continues to evolve as a boundary-pushing jewelry house, honoring both heritage and experimentation, and attracting collectors, stylists, and wearers around the world who resonate with its timeless, expressive spirit.
